MRS. KARL1NG ENTERTAINS
FOR MOTHER
Mrs. A. R. Karlrag entertained
with a monopoly party -on Thurs
day afternoon of last week at the
home of Mrs. John Wasilik, Jr,
complimentary to her mother, Mrs.
J. R. Neville, of Hendersonville.
Guests present, besides the hon
oree, were: Mrs. J. A Flanagan,
Mrs. T. M. Plonk, Mrs. J. P. Nol
and, Mrs. W. L. Nothstein and
Mrs. John Wasilik, Jr.
The hostess served delicious re
freshments at the conclusion of the
party.
Mrs. Sophia Dady returned to
her home in Iowa Wednesday
after spending a month here visit
ing her son, Roy C. Dady, and
Mrs. Dady at their home on White
Oak street.
Mrs. H. B. Davis, of Pittsburgh,
Pa., has been here for the past
week visiting her daughter, Mrs.
Robert Snowden.
Miss June Dady, daughter of
Roy C. Dady, left Wednesday
morning for Chattanooga, Tenn.,
where she will spend several weeks
with friends.

left Sunday for New York, where
they will spend a week.

Mrs. R. C. Dady left Wednesday

will spend several days visiting
relatives and friends.
Mrs. Albert Raby, of West's
Mill, is in Angel hospital for treat
ment. Mrs. Grady Siler and daughter,
Dorothy, of Athens, Tenn., and
Mrs. J. M. Freeman spent Wed
nesday, of this week visiting Mrs.
Freeman's aunt, Miss Lily Rankin,
at her home on Riverview street.
Mrs. W. H. Marshall has re
turned to her home in Warrenton
after spending two' weeks visiting
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. L.
Anderson on Harrison avenue.
Euce Reeves, of Clarkesville,
Ga., was the week-end guest of
Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Rice.
Mrs. T. E. Edwards and son and
daughter, Howard and Ann, of
Miami, Fla., spent the first of the
week visiting Miss Annie Slagle at
her home hear Wayah. They left
Tuesday for Highlands, where they
will have charge of the Hall House
during the summer.
Mr. i and Mrs. George B. Hill, of
Atlanta, Ga, spent the week-end
here visiting Mrs. Hill's aunt, Mrs.
J. K. Cunningham. Mrs. Hill will
remain here for several days.
Mrs. J. E. Brookshire has re
turned to her home in Asheville
after spending a week here with
her sister, Miss Mary Louise
Wurst, at the Orlando apartments
on Harrison avenue.
Mrs. Robert Reid and two chil
dren, of Maynardsville, are spend
ing this week visiting Mrs, Reid's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Soles
bee, at their home on Franklin
Route 3.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Matlock,
who have been living in Winston
Salem, returned to their home at
West's Mill Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Bolick
have returned to their home in
Glen Carlyn, Va., after spending a
week here visiting relatives and
friends. They were accompanied
by Misses Betty RogeVs, Lcida
Beshears and Kate Sellers, whp
will spend two weeks there visit
ing.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ritchie, of
Rabun Gap, Ga., were among the
business visitors here Monday.
Mrs. T. W. Angel, Sr., who re
cently underwent an operation at
Angel hospital, has returned to her
home much improved;
George B. Patton, R. D. Sisk and
R. F. Henry spent Monday of this
week in Bryson City attending
court.
Miss Imogene Ballentine, of Stat
en Island, N. Y., is spending the
summer at Trimont Inn
Mrs. Cora Potts, of West's Mill,
left Saturday for Atlanta, Ga.,
where she spent the first of this
week with her sister, Mrs. George
Bryson, and Mr. Bryson. Mr.
Bryson who is critically ill, was re
ported to be unimproved.
. Mr. and Mrs. Larry, Waldroop,
of Atlanta, Ga., spent the week
end with Mr. Waldroop's mother,
Mrs. Mary Lyle Waldroop at her
home on Cartoogechaye. Mrs. Wal
droop went to Highlands to spend
the summer.
Mrs. Ella Peterson, of Atlanta,
Ga., spent the past week visiting
her sister, Miss Mary Sanders at
her home on Iotla street.
