Evanston no matter how many
times Daily nobody knows his first
name completed his sentences, the
50-year-old negro soon was back in
jail. Nothing serious, but misde
meanors that brought his short
and regular sentences.
It got to be something of a
strain on the city's purse, so of
ficials now have arranged for him
to chauffeur a doctor. He pays
his board to the city, sleeps in his
cell and takes his meals at the
jail.
To rid a rug of moths, mix three
tablespoons of turpentine and three
quarts of water and add one table
spoon of ammonia. Go over the
rug with a sponge dipped in this
solution.
The total bill for the expenses of
the President and the upkeep of
the White House is about $400,000
a year. The civil list of King
George of England approximates
$2,888,900.
