A letter of appre ciation for hospitality and cour tesies extended the delegation while here was received Saturday by F. S. Sloan, county farm agent. "We wish to formally extend our thanks and to express our appre ciation to the people of Macon county and, especially, of Franklin, for the many fine courtesies shown us during our recent visit to your county," the letter stated. "We were very much impressed with the advantages which you pos sess over other sections, especially your climate, your grazing lands and with the practical forest pro gram which you are undertaking, We, of course, grow corn, wheat oats and many other products which you do, but you have an asset in your forests and hay crops which other communities do not possess. We were espeially im pressed yith the attention which you give to controlling wood fires. "In addition to the agricultural advantages you should consider your recreational facilities, as evi denced by your forests, play grounds, swimming pools and camps as being a material asset to your community. These things make an impression on people from other states. "Your county agent was most thoughtful of our party, and we feel that you are fortunate to have his services. Little Billy we have given. She was loved by all who knew her, and her life on earth is o'er, but we are going to meet her yon der on that bright and heavenly shore. And in dreams we often see her. There among the angel band, and it seems she knows we miss her; for she's holding out her hands. She's waiting yonder at the por tals, watching at the golden gate; angels tell our darling Billy that she won't have long to wait. She's my darling over yonder, just the same as she was here; and some day we'll join each other. I have not the slightest fear. Oh, that awful, awful day when He took our dear away.
