to Franklin.
Air. Graham praised Highlands
as a “wonderful spot” and predict
ed, increasing popularity for it as
a resort center. He had little to
say of jiolitics and his campaign
for governor. Those who talked
with him were impressed with his
personality.

The annual all-day meeting of
the Alacon county Baptist W. AI.
U. was held at the Baptist church
here last Friday. Mrs. Sam (jibson,

the meeting,' during which several
interesting talks and program
numbers were given. In the morn
ing Mrs. Edna R. Harris, secre
tary of the state W. M. U. spoke
to the congregation, and after a
picnic dinner on the church
grounds, the Rev. H. H. McMillan,
missionary to China, now on leave
of absence, gave a colorful talk.
