EXCITEMENT CAUSED BY
RABID DOG
There is some excitement in this
vicinity because of depredations
committed last week iby a dog be
lieved to have hydrophobia. It has
not been learned from whence the
dog came or what finally became of
it. It is known that, in this section
and on Rabbit creek, eight dogs
were bitten. There are rumors of
this (Jog’s appearing elsewhere.
Some of the dogs bitten have been
killed, others are kept confined. If
the strange dog was suffering from
rabies, as supposed, no doubt the
disease will develop in some of
those being kept.

F'iSHER REUNION HELD
AT LAKE TOXAWAY
I would like to describe a won
derful trip I had the pleasure of
making a week ago.
I went to the Fisher reunion at
Lake Toxaway church, and there I
met old friends and relatives that
I had not met in 40 or SO years.
They had a very fine history of
the Fisher family, some good speak
ing and fine music and a good
picnic lunch on the ground.
Resolutions were passed to put
up a monument to the oldest mem
ber of the family, and a collection
was taken for that purpose. There
I met my only living brother. Rev.
J. R. Owen, and went to the home
of our niece and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Hall, of Macon-county,
and had dinner with five genera
tions of our Owen family. Then
Sunday morning we met a small
crowd at our old horne place and
had a reunion of the Owen family.
We had a fine short sermon iby
Rev. J. R. Owen, and some good
singing, and decorated the graves
at the family plot. Then had a
good lunch with our nephew, Bur-
lin Owen and wife, and returned
home Sunday night.
