Alvah Pearce returned to his home in Asheville Sunday after spending two weeks visiting Mr, and Mrs. J. S. Conley on Harrison aven.ue. Mr. and ilrs. J. E. Perry and sons, Jimmy and Vic, spent the week-end in Atlanta, Ga,, with Mrs. Perry’s sister, Mrs, Boyd Sutton, and attended the football game between Auburn and Georgia Tech. Mrs. J. S. He planned, before returning to Franklin the latter part of the week, to attend a convention of independent telephone company of ficials in session this week at Sedgefield Manor, near Greens boro. Dr. and Mrs. Frank T. Smith moved Tuesday from their resi dence on Harrison avenue to their new home on Bidwell street, recent ly purchased from M^r. and Mrs. Manson Stiles. M, I), Billings, who has been con fined to his room for the past week with septic sore throat, is able to be out again. Mrs. Pauline Hencey returned Thursday from San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, where she spent two weeks visiting her brother, Sam Hencey. Mrs. ’\fartha McLeod, who has been in Highlands for several months, left Monday for Spring field, 111,, where she will spend the winter with relatives and friends, Mr, and Mrs. S. H.
