Carson, ' which was quietly solemnized Saturday morn ing at . 10 o'clock, at the Baptist pastorium,. the Rev. W. B. Under wood, pastor of the bride, officiat ing. , The bride, a lovely blond, was attired m a navy blue mannish suit, with navy and sky-blue accessories. Mrs.v Carson, is the; daughter of Mr., and Mrs. George McGee, of Franklin. She is a graduate of the Franklin high school and of Cecil's Business college, in Asheville. For the past few months she 'has been secretary to Fred S. Sloan, district farm agent. Mr. Carson, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Carson, of Barnardsville, is a graduate of the Barnardsville high school. He is at. present superintendent of the Macon county prison camp, at Franklin. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Carson left for a short wedding trip. Miss Carolyn Nolen and John R. Faison were the only attendants at the wedding. , Mr. and Mrs. Carson have mov ed into the Hudson apartments on Iotla street. ' . TALLENT-SOURGOUSE Miss Mafjorie Tallent and Frank Sourgouse were quitely married in Cnrnri f,a on fsattirrlav FtfhrU- ary 6. Mrs. Sourgouse, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jule Tallent, of Franklin. Mr. Sourgouse is from New York and is an enrollee at the Civilian Conservatory Corps at camp F-20, located at West's Mill. Mr. and Mrs. Sourgouse are now making their home at West's Mill. MRS. LON CAMPBELL GIVES QUILTING FAR I x Mrs. Lon Campbell entertained at an all-day quilting party on Wednesday of the past week, at "her home on the Bryson City road. SLAGLE The Macon county chapter of the United Daughters of Confeder acy will hold their regular monthly business and social meeting on Monday afternoon, March 8, at 3 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Carl S. Slagle. The members are all urged to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Carl S. Slagle re turned to their home on Cartooge chaye Wednesday after spending several days in Raleigh. Mrs. T. S. Munday, who is teach ing a school in beauty culture in Gastonia, spent the week-end here on business. ' Mrs. John Allen, who has been seriously ill with bronchial pneu monia, at her home at West's Mill, was reported Monday tos be some what improved. Reid Cabe returned- to his home in Accokeek, Md., Monday, after spending a week -with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C A. Cabe, at their home on Franklin Route 2, and other relatives in Macon county. Mrs. T. ; W. Angel, . Jr., and young son, Tommy III, and Mrs. Furman Angel returned to their homes here Friday, after spending a month in Miami, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers Dal ton and Joel Dalton, of Gastonia, spent the week-end(l with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Dalton, at West's Mill and Mrs Frank Shields, in Franklin. Mrs, A. R. Higdon and two chil dren, who have been spending the past two months in Lake Helen, Fla., returned to their' home here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gibson, of Johnson City,' Tenn., spent the week-end with relatives on Iotla. S. H. Carl Tysinger, Jr., who under went an operation for the removal of his appendix, at Angel -hospital, on Wednesday of the oast week. was reported to be dqing nicely Tuesday. ' Mrs. C. E. Cooper, of Etowah, Tenn., Mrs. T. L. Neu, of Cincin nati Ohio, and' Mr. and Mrs. Nim rod Stiles and son, of Haines City, Fla.,' are here with their father, George T. Stiles, who is in Angel hospital in a serious condition. Mr. Stiles is suffering from apoplexy. Mrs. L. S. McConnell, was brought to Angel hospital on Tues day of the past week suffering from severe burns. Mrs. McCon nell was fanning an open fire with her apron, when it became ignited, badly burning 'her entire left side . before it could ,be extinguished.
