Mrs. Dills is the aaugMer of Mr.
and Mrs. Lyman Sweatman, while
Mr. Dills is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Dills.
Mr., and Mrs. Dills are making
their home on Cartoogechaye with
Mrs. A. T. Silcr, foster-mother of
Mr. Dills.
BROWN-WATICINS
A wedding of interest to many
relatives and friends in Macon
county was that of Miss Berta
Brown to Mr. Frank L. Watkins,
of Watkinsville,' Ga., which took
place in Anderson, S. C, April 23.
Mrs. Watkins is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Brown, of
Watkinsville, Ga.; while Mr. Wat
kins is the son of.vMr. S. L. "Wat
kins and the late Mrs. Watkins, of
Watkinsville, Ga., and will be re
, membered here having lived in
Macon county all his life until a
few years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Watkins will make
their home at Bishop, Ga.

with his mother, Mrs. D. W. Blaine.
Miss- Fannie Edwards, who is
working .in Atlanta, Ga., is visiting
her mother, Mrs. Phil Edwards, at
her home, on Franklin Route 3.

Clinton, Tenn., spent the week-end
here with Mrs. Phillips' mother,
Mrs. A. S. Solesbee, and her sister,
Mrs. Thad Patton, at her home on
Franklin Route 1.
Mrs. W. T. Moore was confined
to her bed Tuesday with a case of
influenza.

spending several days in Franklin,
the house guest of Mr. and Mrs.
Jimmy Sutton, at their home on

Mrs. J. T. Siler, who has been
spending several weeks in Ferri
day Ala., with her husband, who
is working there, is expected to re
turn to her home here this week.
Paul Plemmons, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Herman H. Plemmons, who
suffered a fracture of the left
thigh and a fracture of the left
arm at the shoulder, with some
minor bruises when he was run
over by an automobile on Wednes
day, January 20, is able to be get
ting around on. crutches.
Mrs. W. W. Sloan, who has been
spending the past winter in Green
ville, S. C, with her daughter, Mrs.
Hall Swain and Mr. Swain, in ex
pected to return to her home at
"Sunnyside Farm" Thursday,
Mrs. Roy Mize and children, of
Clayton, Ga., were visiting Mrs.
Mize's brother, joe Palmer and
Mrs. Palmer, at their home on
White Oak street. They also at
tended the graduation exercises of
the Franklin high school.
Miss Ina Henry, who is attend
ing Western Carolina Teacheri col
lege at Cullowhee, spent the week
end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
R. F. Henry, at their home on
Franklin Route 4.
Mrs. T. S. Munday, who is now
making her home in Gastonia,
spent the week-end here with
