Mrs. Frank Killian and young son, Frank, Jr., have returned from Angel hospital to their home on West Main street. . Mrs. Wade Reece and two sons, of Andrews, are spending several days on Cartoogechaye visiting rel atives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Everette Bradley were called to Winston-Salem Sun day on account "of the serious ill ness of their daughter, Miss Ver nice Bradley, who has blood poison. Verlin Swafford, who is work ing in Asheville, spent the week end on Iotla with relatives and friends. . Miss Annie Hurst, of Detroit, Mich., is spending several days at West's Mill with her cousin, Miss Katherine Ray, and other relatives in Macon county. Miss Hurst is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hurst, formerly of Macon county. Mrs. Charlie Bradley, of West's ill, had her tonsils, removed at Angel hospital Wednesday. . Mrs. Thomas J. Wooldridge,, who has been visiting with Mrs. J, W, C. Johnson at Trimont Inn, return ed to her home in Asheville Sun day. ' Mr. and Mrs. Claude Calloway, of Highlands, spent Tuesday .night on Bonny Crest, visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Cal loway, returning to their home Wednesday. Mrs. J. T. Siler returned to her home here Thursday, after spend ing several weeks in Ferriday, Ala., with her husband, who is working there. Miss Ruth Slagle is Spending this week at Selma, N. C, the house guest of Miss Pansy Chandler. Dr. Frank Killian and family have moved from the Franklin Terrace to the Sloan house on Main street recently occupied by E. B. Schulman. Mrs. John Brown, of Berea, Ky., and Mrs. James Fowler, of Knox ville, Tenn., spent the first of the week here visiting, ? returning to their homes Thursday. Mrs. Moses Blumenthal and two daughters, Dorothy and Marjorie, left Sunday for Atlanta; Ga., where they will spend some time with Mrs. Blumenthal's sister, Mrs. T. L. Swinger. Miss Pauline Powers and John R. Faison are in Asheville attend ing a conference of . the resettle ment association. Russell Cabe, who is working in Summerville, Ga., is spending sev eral days here with his wife. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Lancaster left Tuesday morning for Brinkley, Ark., where they will spend two weeks visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Ella Freeman and Mrs. Mary Higdon came up from La vonia, Ga., Sunday for a visit with their aunt, Miss Lily Rankin ahd Miss Amy Harrison. John Davenport, of Boston, Mass., spent the first of the week here on business, and visiting his brother-in-law, L. H. Page and Mrs. Page, at their home on Rogers Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Chace Tatham, of Andrews, spent the week-end at West's ; Mill with Mrs. Tatham's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mc Gaha. Mr. . and Mrs. Henry Cabc left Tuesday for Pinehurst to attend the state bankers convention. They were accompanied by their three children who will visit their grand mother, Mrs. D. S. Richardson, at Rutherford College. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Lyle and two daughters, Ann and Laura, re turned to Franklin Sunday after spending the winter in' Gainesville, Fla. Mrs. C. C. McCall, of Asheville, is spending several days here visit ing her mother, Mrs. Frank Curtis. Mr. and Mrs. Carl P. Cabe, of Franklin, and D. P. Cabe; of Otto, spent the week-end in Glenville with Mr. Cabe's daughter, Mrs. Carl Jamison an,d Mr. Jamison They were accompanied by Miss Carlene Jamison, who had been spending the past three weeks in Franklin and Otto visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Pope Ellard and two , chil dren, Katherine and Martin, re turned to their home on Bidwell street Monday, after a visit with relatives and friends in Greenville, S. C, and Atlanta, Ga. I Births Mr. and Mrs.' Harlcy Dunbar announce the birth of a daughter, Friday morning; April .30, at the Mission hospital in Asheville. Both Mrs. Dunbar and young daughter arc reported to be doing nicely. A female lecturer said ; "Since women adopted the modern cos tumes, street car accidents have decreased 50 per cent." And a male voice in the back row called out, "Why not cut out street car accidents altogether?"
