George T. Stiles, who has been
in Angel hospital for the past three
months suffering from a, stroke of
apoplexy, plans to return to his
home on West Main street the
latter part of this week.
Mrs. Samuel T, Bowen and small
daughter, Evelyn, have returned to
their home in l'ennville, N. J., after
spending a week here with Mrs.
Bowen's sister, Mrs. Ben McCol
lum and Mr. McGollum at their
home on Palmer street.
Frank Hill, of Highlands, was
among the business visitors here
Monday.
Rev. J. A. Flanagan attended a
meeting of the general assembly of
the l'resbyterian church at Mon
treat Tuesday.
Bryant McOurc, of Franklin
Route 2, is visiting his sister, Mrs.
Homer V. Nichols -and Mr. Nichols,
at their home in Jackson, Miss.
Mrs. Allen Siler and young
daughter, of Bryson City, spent the
week-end with Mrs. Siler's mother,
Mrs. Robert Pattilla, at her home
on Franklin Route 2. .(
Sam Alexander has moved . from
the Rogers apartment to the home
of Mrs., W. W. Sloan, at "Sunny
side Farm." .
Lawrence and Gus riemmons, of
Asheville, yvcre here Wednesday
for a visit with their son and
nephew, II., II. l'lemmons and Mrs.
Plemmons, at their home on
White Oak street.
Mrs. Lyman Higdon and Mrs.
H. G.; Knock spent Wednesday in
Atlanta, Ga., where Mrs. Higdon
wefit to purchase goods for Frances
Shop.
Mrs. M. C. Thompson and two
children, of Heridcrsonville, are
spending this week visiting Mrs.
Thompson's sister, Mrs. Rufus
Joines and. Mr. Joines at their
home in East Franklin.
Mrs. Myrtle White and daughter,
Dorothy, of Bryson City, are spend
ing several days here with Mrs.
White's brother, H. Lee Guffey and
Mrs. Guffey.
Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Furr and
children spent Thursday of the past
week in Asheville.

is spending several days with her
sister, Mrs. C. A. Lowery, who is
seriously ill at her home on

Lyman Dalton, who " underwent
an. operation for a ruptured ap
pendix in Darrington, Wash, on
Monday of the past week, was re
ported to be doing very nicely. Mr.
Dalton is the son , of Mr. and Mrs.
John H. Dalton, of West's Mill,
and was making a tour over the
western states when he was taken
sick.
Mr. and Mrs. J, D. Jacobs, of
South Carolina spent the week-end
on Bonny .Crest with Mr. Jacob's
mother, Mrs. David A. Jacobs. On
their return they were accompanied
by Mrs. Jacobs, who spent the
first of the week there visiting.
