C, were week-end guests at the Kelly Tea room. Charles O. Ramsey, who has been in Wisconsin for several months, is visiting his sister, Mrs. Wade Moody, at her home on lotla. Mrs. Norvin C. Duncan,of Ashe ville, is spending a few days witli Miss Sophia Alberts, at her home on Franklin Route 1. Mrs. Duncan is the wife of Rev. N. C. Duncan, former pastor of the St. Agnes Episcopal church. Miss Dorothy Stewart, who is do ing stenographic work in Durham, spent a week here with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Stewart, at their home on Rivervicw street. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weyman spent the past week in Raleigh and other eastern cities visiting. On their return. Saturday night they were accompanied by their son, Floyd Weyman, who has been a student at the State college at Raleigh the past year. Captain and Mrs. George A. Mc Hride and daughter, Miss Marjorie McBride and son, Sam, of New Orleans, La., arrived here Tuesday and are guests at the Franklin Terrace. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Slagle and family, of Homestead, Fla., are spending a few days at a summer home" near the home of Mrs. Charlie McClure at Otto. Miss Mary Slagle, who has been teaching, school in Columbus, Ohio, for the past year, came in last week for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Slagle, prior ' to going to Chapel Hill to at tend the summer school. C. A. Setser has returned from Raleigh where he was called to be with his son, Carl, who is critically ill. He reported Carl to be unim proved and his son, Robert, who has pneumonia to be improving. Among the students who have returned from college to their homes here are Charles M. Hunter, Winton Perry, and Bobby Sloan from the University of North Car olina, at Chapel Hill; Nick Hunter, J. D. Patton, Floyd Weyman and Jeff Enloe, Jr., from North Caro lina State college at Raleigh. Mrs. A. W. Mangum, of Tampa, Fla., spent the first of the week at Trimont Inn. She was joined In Jacksonville, Fla., by her son, Bill, who has been a student at Chapel Hill the past year. Jvtiss Florence Stalcup left Mon day for Greensboro, where she will spend six weeks attending summer school. Horace Bryson, of West's Mill; left Monday for Oteen, where he will take treatment for a while. His mother, Mrs. J. L. Bryson, will visit relatives in Asheville this week. She will also visit with her brother, Joe Mallonee and Mrs. Mallonee at their home at Beta. Mrs. A. E. Gouge, of Bakcrsvillc, is . spending several days here vis iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D.
