CONLEY, PHONE 104 ' SLAGLE-BULGIN Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slagle, of Franklin, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margatet Antoinette, to Air. John Bulgin., of Franklin. A he bride-elect is a graduate of the Sand Hill high , school in Ashe ville and ot Brevard Junior college at lirevard. , Mr. Bulgin, is a son of Mrs. George M. Bulgin and the late George M. Bulgin, of Franklin. He is a graduate of ,the Franklin high school and since th'e death of his father has taken over the manage ment of the Bulgin Machine Shop. The wedding is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 1, at 2:30 p. m., at the Mt. Zion Metho dist church near Franklin. CLAMPITT-SHOOK A marriage of much interest to their friends throughout Macon county, was that of Miss Nina Clampitt to Floyd Shook, which took place in Asheville on Satur day, August 28. Mrs. Shook is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Clampitt, of Franklin Route 3. Mr. Shook is the son of Mrs. J. 'H. Shook and the late Mr. Shook, of Hickory. They were accompanied on their wedding trip by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Shook, of Hickory. Mr. and Mrs. Shook are now making their home at Hickory. MRS. C. N. WIST GIVES PARTY FOR EPWORTrT LEAGUE The Epworth League of the Snowhill Methodist church closed another year of successful work under the leadership of Mrs. C. N. West, The attendance was very good throughout the year and the league members rendered some very interesting programs. As a token of Mrs. West's ap preciation for the cooperation of the league during the past year, she gave a party for . the league, on Friday night, October IS, with 20 Macon Theatre Matinees 3:30 P. VISITS FRANKLIN AFTER ABSENCE OF 22 YEARS Mrs. Nora Woodard, of White Salmon, Wash., and Mrs. C. A. Duvall, of . Blairsville, Ga., are vis iting their sisters, Mrs! E. V. Du vall, Mrs. H. Dt Dean, Mrs. Emlis Aleadows, the Morgan brothers, and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Woodard has been out of Macon county 22 years. On her return she reports Frank lin a very much improved town. On her journey here she stopped off at Kansas City and visited her sister, Mrs. L. C. Kinyoun. She expects to visit a while be fore she returns. Mrs. Woodard will be remembered as Miss Nora Morgan and Mrs. C. A. Duval! as Miss Lily Morgan. Her condition is reported by hospital authorities to be very satisfactory. Bryant McClure, John Ansell and Misses Lucy Gray and Susan Mc Clure spent the past week-end in Atlanta. Rickman has returned td his work in "Washington, D. C, after being called home to attend the funeral of his brother, Thomas M. Rickman.
