Southern Methodists in the West ern North Carolina conference pos sessed institutions with property valued at $29,257,057 and with en dowments totaling $34,592,913, it was disclosed in the statistical 're port submitted at the final session of the annual conference in Ashe ville Sunday. The five institutions, representing three schools, an orphanage and a hospital, . have an aggregate indebt edness of only $1,050, the report showed. .The educational institutions of the Western North Carolina Meth- odists are Duke university, Greens-1 boro college and Brevard college. In the year just ended, 1,082 in fants and 3,451 others were bap tized. A total of 5,313 members were received in the churches on professions of faith. Robert L. Ritchie Dies in Rabun County,. Gi. Robert L. Kitihie, who was well known in Macon county, died on Wednesday of last week at his home in Rabun county, Ga. Mr. Ritchie was a brother of A. J. Ritchie, president of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee school, . and had been identified with the educational interests of Rabun county since early manhood. He was 67 years of age, and was a useful and sub stantial citizen, always to be found on the right side of every moral question. Mr. Ritchie is survived by his wife, who before 'her marriage was Miss Minjiie Tanner, and one daughter, Mrs. G. M. Bolinger, of Newark, N. J., and three brothers: Will and Frank Ritchie, of the state of Washington, and A. J. Ritchie, of Rabun Gap, Ga. Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist church at Dillard, Mr. Ritchie was a member of the M eth odist church and the pastor, Rev F. O.
