SCHOOL NOTES The Highlands school closed on Monday for two weeks upon the advice of the district health officer, Dr. Sisk, .of Waynesville. Some alarm has been felt by the parents of school children due to the few cases of diphtheria in town, and the attendance has been so low that it was considered advisable to close the school for a short time. It will reopen on December 6. Dr. Padgett, county health officer, and Miss Dixon, county health nurse, were at the school on Mqii day inoculating for diphtheria pro tection. They will be at the school again on Monday, November 29, at 10 o'clock for the same purpose. For the first time in Highlands there will be a sale of Christmas seals conducted this year. These seals cost one cent each and the proceeds are used for the fight against : tuberculosis. Of the total sale in Macon county, 75 per cent of the money is used in the county, and 25 per cent goes to Raleigh. The sale will start here about De cember 1 and will be under the direction of O. F. Summer. All are urged to buy as many seals as possible and lend support to this fight against tuberculosis. Each penny will buy a seal.
