J. E. Abernethy, pastor of the church. Prior to the ceremony, a pro gram of nuptial music was played by Mrs. Henry W. Cabe, organist, including the wedding hymn "O Perfect Love, sung by the vested ' chc'ir, and two vocal solos, "Ah, Sweet Mystery, of Life," and "O A ionise Ue," Dy B. W. Woodruff. "To a -Wild Rose" was softly play ed during the ceremony. The Brid al Chorus from Lohengrin was used as a processional and Men delssohn's Wedding March as the recessional. Gheesling, of Charlotte. Immediately following the cere mony, 'the wedding party, out-of- I town -guests, and a few close friends were entertained at a re ception held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Woodruff. The guests were greeted by Mrs. Eloise G. Franks and presented to the wedding party and Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff. The living room was decorated in bridal green and white 'with many lighted tapers. Ihe dining room taible , was covered with an exquisite table cloth and a center piece of white flowers. Flanking this were white tapers in crystal holders, completing the table deco rations. Green and white cakes, with coffee and minis were served by Misses Dorothy Sloan, Virginia Tessier, Lane Porter, and Sarah Conley, Girl Scouts belonging to the bride's troop. Coffee was pour ed by Miss Ruth Slagle. Mrs.. John R. Faison was in charge of the bride's book. To Reside At Franklin Mr." and Mrs. Overcash left later in the evening for a wedding trip in the South and upon their re turn they will make their home in Franklin. Mrs. Overcash is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Powers, of Statesville. She receiv ed her education in the Iredell county high, school and attended Berry college, Rome, Ga., where she received her degree in the lass in 1934. The bride now holds a position as home management supervisor wfth the Farm Security administration with offices here. She is also captain of the Gifl Scouts Troop No. 1. , . Mr. Overcash . is the son of Mrs. R. B. Overcash and the late Mr. Overcash, of Charlotte. He was graduated from Jhe Mecklenburg county high school and ' attended Berry college, where he received his degree in the class of 1937. He now holds a position in the Frank Jin high , school.
