In
Mrs. Martha Ann Lunsford, 94,
died at the home of B. A. Smith
. in the liriertown section on De
cember 21. Mrs. Lunsford was one
of the oldest residents of Macon
county, having been boi n March 24,
1843. '
She was married to Thomas
Lunsford in 188U. To, this union
was born one daughter,, who died
during the flu epidemic in 1918,
Since the death of her husband
several years ago, Mrs. Lunsford
has been living with her son-in-law,
John Neal and her grand
children. She was a member of the
Baptist church and was highly es
teemed by all who knew her.

Supper was served by the ladies
of the Eastern Star, after which
several talks were. made. Rev. W
B. Underwood, pastor of the
Franklin Baptist church, delivered
the address of the evening, and
short , speeches were made by J. E.
S. Thorpe, H. E. Church, Paul H.
Gerrard and O. E. Clutter.

to Ralph Peek, the wedding tak
ing place in Clayton, Ga., on Tues
day, December 14.

Mrs. W. W. Sloan is spending

Frank Palmer Dies
In Akron, Ohio
Frank Palmer, 54, died at his
home in Akron, Ohio, Monday
afternoon at 6 o'clock, following
a serious illness of about 10 days..
Death was caused from a spinal
infection.
Funeral services were held at
the home Wednesday morning at
11 o'clock. .Interment was in an
Akron cemetery.
Mr. Palmer was the son of the
late J. F. Palmer, of Franklin, and
was widely known here, having
lived here for a number of years.
Surviving are his widow, the for
mer Miss Betty Jacobs, of Frank
lin, and two sons, J. C. and Frank,
Jr;; two sisters; M rs.':WiBlGrnd
staff, of Keene, N. Hl!and Mrs.
Roy Mize, of ' Clayton; four broth
ers, Charles Palmer, of1 Shamrock,
Texas; James A, Joe 'and Fred
Palmer, all of Franklin.

There will be a box supper at
Higdonville school house, Saturday
night, January 22, the proceeds to
be used for the benefit of the
