Matron Funeral Held Monday Funeral services for Lawrence Mason were held at the Iotla . Bap tist church Monday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. R, F. Mayburry, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J. A. Flanagan, pastor of the Franklin ( Presbyterian church. Pallbearers were: Lester Arnold, Ralph P.enland, Romulus Carpenter, Ras Penland, Raz Tallent and James Hauser. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Reid Elliott, of Franklin Route 4, and five brothers, Charles, William, Thad, Paul and Fred Ma non, all of Franklin. Athletic Club To Hold Meeting The Young People's Athletic club will hold a business meeting at the courthouse on Tuesday, July 5, at 3 o'clock p. m. Club officers state that all members are expected to be present at this meeting. The club meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays in each month. Wayah Bald game refuge will be opened to fishing July 2, 3, and 4 under a special permit issued through- a co operative agreement between the U. S. forest service and the North Carolina department of conserva tion and development, it was an nounced today. Permits will be on sale at a checking station at Ar rowood Glade on the open dates and the following restrictions will be enforced: 1. Fishing will be permitted with either natural. or artificial bait but not more than one hook to each lure. This does not mean that two or more lures cannot be used on one leader, but prohibits the use of treble or so-called gang hooks. 2. Size limit: Brook trout under six inches and rainbow trout under eight inches in length shall be re turned immediately to the water with the least possible injury to the fish. 3. The daily bag limit for each permittee shall be ten (10) fish of any one or combination of species. 4. No permittee shall fish between the hours of sunset and sunrise, or in any portion of a stream posted as being closed to fishing. No fish taken .under permit shall be sold or otherwise disposed of for com mercial purposes. 5. The fee for each days fishing shall be $1.00 per person. Each angler shall be required to have a state or non-resident daily fishing permit or a state, county, or non resident fishing license in order to obtain a special refuge permit. 6. Each fisherman shall be check ed in not earlier than 7 a. m. and out not later than 8 p. m. at the regular checking station at Arrow wood Glade. 7. Upon checking out, each angler must register the results of his fish ing at the checking station and re turn his permit or forfeit his rights for procuring future fishing per mits. " All permits will be limited to streams on Nantahala forest land and private land which is under a cooperative agreement, within the refuge boundary. The following streams will be opened, in whole or in part: Wayah Creek, Arrow wood Creek, Locust Tree Branch, Camp Creek and Rough Fork. Arrowood Glade is located eight miles west of Franklin and may be reached by following U. S. High way 64 for five miles and the Nantahala road three miles.
