Prisoners Treated To .
Cakes And Coffee
On Wednesday of last week the
prisoners who work at the rock
quarry found that their lunch had
been spoiled by the extreme heat,
and it looked as though they
they would have to go without the
midday meal, but Mr. J. B. Justice
gathered a, supply of cakes and cof
fee at the Agricultural building,
where the Holly Springs ladies had
served lunch after the farm tour,
and rushed to the quarry with
them. !
The prisoners greatly appreciated
the thoughtfulness of Mr. Justice,
and sent the following card of
thanks to The Press:
'To the honorable citizens, of
Macon county for the treat and
kindness shown us on Wednesday,
August 10th. The cake was delicious
and the coffee A No. 1, the potato
salad excellent, and the pie very
fine. Thirty smiles and thankful
hearts met Mr. Justice as he en
tered the rock quarry with a tray
of cake and a container of. strong
coffee. We wish to thank you all.
Sincerely and truly yours,
Prisoners of Macon County.
