her parents at Leatherman, but the
young couple will make their per

Tuesday, September 13, in the pres

Mrs. YouAg is the daughter of
.Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Shook, while
Mr. Young i-vthe son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. 1. Ydtdig, both of Ellijay.

Thomas Potts, of Highlands.
Mr. and 'Mrs. . Young are now
making their home in Highlands,
where Mr. Young is employed with

Peek, of Culberson, and' is now em
ployed in the CCC camp at Otto.

After the business, was, dispensed

sangs, "Carolina" and " Can't You
Hear Me Calling, Caroline," ac
companied by Mrs. "Harry S. Hig
gins at the piano. ;
Mrs. Carl S. Slagle read a very
interesting article "on "Indigo."
Miss May McDowell, a guest from
Clayton, Ga., was winner of the
flower contest, and' presented a
bouquet of fjowers. ,
The October meeting will be held
at Trimont Inn, with Mr,s. J. W. C.

ton spent a while here Sunday with

been on their wedding trip, were
enroute to their home at Wades
boro. Mrs. D. G. Stewart and grand
son, Richard Briggs, left Thursday
for Atlanta, where they will spend
some time with Mrs. Stewart's
daughters, Mrs. Virginia Briggs and
Miss Dorothy Stewart.
BIBLE CLASS ELECTS
OFFICERS FOR YEAR
The F. S, Johnston Bible Class, of
the Franklin Methodist, church met
at the home of Mrs. Lester S.
Conley, on Harrison evenue Thurs
day .afternoon at 3 o'clock, for' the
regular monthly, business and social
meeting. There were 25 members
present.;
Throughout the rooms, quantities
of vari-colored zinnias, were attrac-
tively arranged.
. After the business .was disposed
with and the various reports were
given, the election of officers was
held. Mrs. H. E. Church, chairman
of the nominating committee, gave
the following name,s. which were
unanamously elected :
Mrs. P. F. Callahan, teacher; Mrs.
George A." Jones, assistant teacher;
Mrs. Lon Campbell, president; Mrs.
J. S. Conley, vice-president; Mrs.
Lester Henderson,' secretary-treasurer,
and Mrs. Roy G, Beshears,
assistant.
Mrs. Sam L. Rogers, who has
been ill for the past two months,
was present and thanked the class
for the "Sunshine Box" which af
forded her so much pleasure during
her illness.
Following "the business session,
two very interesting contests were
given, The "musical contest" with
Mrs. Henry W. Oabe at the piano,
was w&n by Mrs. J. E. Abernethy,
while Mrs. H. E. Church was win
ner of the "flower basket" contest.
Both were presented prizes. Mrs.
Cabe was also presented a gift.'
At the conclusion of the meeting
the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Jim
Palmer and Mrs, W. W. McDon
nell, served delicious refreshments.

home in Clemson, S. C, for several
weeks, returned, to her home on,
