Christian Endeavor. , POTTS-STEPHENS The marriage of Miss Mary Elizabeth Potts to B. A. Stephens was solemnized Tuesday evening, October 4, in' St. John's Catholic church in Waynesville. The Rev. , Father Barrett performed the cer emony in the presence of the im mediate members of the family. The bride wore a becoming fall model, of wine-colored velvet with blue accessories,, and her shoulder bouquet was formed of snapdragons and for-get-me-nots.- Mrs. Stephens was graduated from Highlands high school in May, 1934, and entered St. Joseph's In firmary in Atlanta the following September, taking the nurses' train ing dourse. She graduated from St. Joseph's in May, .1937, and since h'er graduation has done institution al and private work in Atlanta. She is the second daughter -of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Potts, of Highlands, and is a descendent of the Ammons and Pierson families, prominent in North Carolina... - -. v Mr. Stephens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W, G. Stephens, of At lanta, and is a graduate of Marist college, class of 1934. He is a de scendent of the Baya. family- of Havana, Cuba, and the Stephens family of 'California. Mr Stephens holds a responsible position with the Ford Motor company in At lanta, where the young couple ex pect to make their home: The best wishes of their many Highlands friends go with them. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Wilson and family are moving this week to their new home on the Dillard road. Parents' Day October 16 At Brevard College , BREVARD, Oct.12. Students and faculty of Brevard college have set aside Sunday, October 16, as Par ents' Day. An annual affair, Par ents' Day gives mothers and fath ers of Brevard students an oppor tunity to ,see the college "home" of their -.sons and daughters and to observe typical activities on Sunday. Religious services in the morn ing; dinner on the campus, or with their children in some of the near by beauty spots; departmental ex hibits; fellowship with the faculty; a specially arranged program of music; and reunion with their chil dren will make the day oi interest and worth to each parent.
