Anderson Reunion To
Be Held October 20
The 45th annual reunion, of the
Anderson families will be held on
Thursday, October 20, at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Van Frazier,
near Louisa Chapel, on Cartooge
chaye. The relatives are all invited
to come and bring well, filled bas
kets of lunch. . All the friends are
cordially invited to attend.

Mrs. McCrea is known to the
movie world as Frances Dee, and
both .she and her husband were
starred in . "Wells Fargo," an out
standing feature picture which was
recently shown at . the Macon
Theatre.
Rally Day To Be Held
At Asbury Church
There will be a "Rally Day" held
at the Asibury Methodist church,
at Otto. Sunday. October 16. The
program during the day will fea
ture preaching, singing and dinner
on the ground. The public is cor

At Maple Springs
A box supper will be held at the
Maple Springs school house on Sat
urday night, October 15. The pro
ceeds will be ,used for the benefit
of- the 'school. The public is cor

Baptist Church Items
The pastor, Rev, C. F. Rogers,
will continue his Sunday night mes
sages on the Bible at 7:30 on the
theme, "A Trip in Noah's Ark."
The morning theme. at 11 o'clock
will be, "What the Resurrection of
Christ Means to Me."
The "Brotherhood" will meet at
6:30 p. m. All men invited.
Next week will be Missionary
week in our church program.
A religious survey of the com
munity 'will be conducted next Sun
day afternoon and all who will as
sist are requested to meet at the
church at 2 p. m.
Father-Son, Mother-
Daughter Banquet
The first Father-Son. Mother-
Daughter Banquet was held Thurs
day night by the home economics
and agriculture departments of the
Rabun Gap high school. A delicious
plate was served to more than two
hundred guests in the auditorium
of the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee school
gymnasium. William Turner, presi
dent of the local F. F. A. chapter,
made a welcoming address and in
troduced the speakers.
Bob White, J. C. Porter, Ruth
Grist, Leo Fry and Carolyn Ussery
gave short talks on various phases
of vocational, home economics and
agriculture.
The principal address was deliv
ered by L. M. Sheffer, state sup
ervisor of vocational agriculture.
Correction
In the colt .show that was held
Saturday, October 1, the colt plac
ed third in the horse colt class was
not mentioned nor was the man
who gave this cash prize recognized.
One of the colts shown by John
C. Ferguson was placed third and
the three dollar" prize was given by
John Justice. This colt was sired
by Mr. Justice's stallion.

The society was organized one
year ago on October 14 with 14
members.

, Tuesday night there were 14 bid
members and five new members in
attendance, with four guests, 'mak
ing a total of 23 the largest group
for the whole year.
At; this meeting a nominating
committee was aooointed to oresent
a lLs.t of officers at the November
meeting when the annual election
will be held.
After the meeting adjourned the
hostess served . a very delicious and
attractive plate and coffee.

HONORED WITH SHOWER
Miss Mary Slagle, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Carl S. Slagle, of
Cartoogechaye, and a bride elect
of October 15, was honored at a
miscellaneous shower at the home
of Mrs. Hayne Arthur, on Cartoo
gechaye, Tuesday afternoon.
The rooms where the guests as
sembled were beautifully decorated
in the autumn flowers.
As the guests arrived, the gifts
were deposited in a rain-Darrei
which had been placed "on the
porch. Myra SJagle, sister oJ the
bride-elect, rushed into the room
and exclaimed that a "shower, was
coming" and would Mary come- and
assist her with the rain-barrel.
Upon reaching the barrel, the hon
oree found many dainty and useful
gifts. '
. A book on advice to the bride
made by the guests and presented
to the bride-elect, caused much
merriment. - ,
The hostess assisted by Mrs. Jeff
Enloe, of Cartoogechaye and Mrs.
Rufus Snyder, of Franklin, served
delicious punch, cakes and mints to
about 30 guests who called, during
the afternoon. '

Ben W. Woodruff Wednesday at
her home on Harrison avenue. .,
The living room and dining room,
which were thrown ensuite were
artistically arranged in bowls of
mixed fall flowers, while the lunch
eon table was centered with a
bowl of white fall flowers.
Covers were laid Nfor six and the
places were marked with bridal
place cards. The honor guest's
place ,was noted by a tulle bow
showered with lillies-of-the-valley.
