TO HAVE ALL-DAY MEETING On Tuesday, November 22, be ginning at 10 o'clock, the Woman's Missionary Union of the Franklin Baptist church will meet at the Baptist pustorium with Mrs. C. F. All memuers are urged to be present. W. M. U. TO HOLD REGULAR MEETING The Woman's Missionary Union of the Franklin Baptist church will meet on Wednesday afternoon. November 23, at 3 o'clock for the regular monthly business and .social meeting. Circle No. 1 will meet at the home of , Mrs. George Dean on Iotla street, with Mrs. John Ram sey as associate hostess, while Cir cle No. 2 will meet with Mrs. L. B. Phillips, .at her h&me on West Main street, with Mrs, W. C. Penn assisting in entertaining. All mem bers are urged to attend. Mrs. Derald Ashe and daughter, Miss Frances Ashe, spent Saturday and Sunday in Waynesville with Mr.s. Ashe's sister, Mrs. Roy Rob inson. Miss Mildred Bryson and Miss Virginia Scott, students at Brevard college, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs: C. Tom Bryson and Mr. and Mrs. George Scott. They were accompanied by their roommates, Miss Lorraine Jackson and Miss Nanna Sue Mich ael, who were their guests over the week-end. Miss Maybelie Bryant, who is doing secretarial work in a hospital in Greenville, S. Carl Lowmah, who spent the past summer in Morgan ton, returned last week and have taken an apartment with Mrs. Sam L. Roger at Rogers Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Ben McCollum are building a six-room bungalow on Bidwell street. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Webb, of High lands, spent Saturday here shop ping. " Mrs. R. I. Wayne Higdon,,, who has been employed by the Nantahala national forest service, has bectf transferred to Paris, Ark., where he will work in the Ouachita1 national forest. Miss Virginia Slagle, who is teaching public school music and piano in the Lockhart, S. C, school, spent the week-end with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Slagle, at their home on Weat Main street. Miss Betty Leach, who is attend ing Cecil's Business College in Asheville, .spent the week-end at home, and had as her guest Miss Opal Prior, of Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. .Church spent Saturday in r Asheville shop ping. ''. Miss Brandon Corpening has re turned to her home in Charlotte, after spending a week on Cartooge chaye visiting her mother, Mrs. J. T. Corpening. Mrs J. Perry Bradley, of Etna, spent the week-end in Enka visit ing relatives and friends. Mrs. C. Frank Moody has re turned to her home on Io(la, after a visit with Her daughter, Mrs. Noble Garrett, at her home in Waynesville. Jack moore and family have mov ed from Ellijay to the Will Lov place on Scott Branch, which they have recently purchased. The Rev. and Mrs. Frank Blox-' ham were dinner, guests of Mrs. F. A. Potts, of Highlands, on Sun day. . . Miss. Molly Slagle, Miss Jose phine Weaver and Claud Bolton went to Waynesville Sunday with Charlie Russell, , where they were all the dinner guests of Mr. Rus sell's mother, Mrs. Sarah Russell. Kenneth Cabe, a student at Bre vard college, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Cabe, at their home on Riverview . street. Mrs, Ray Orr, of Andrews, spent the week-end with her aunt, Mrs. C. D. Baird, iat her home on Bonny Crest. . , 1 Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Jones are spending this week in Detroit, Mich., on business and visiting friends. Grady Bryant and family have moved to the Mashburn house on Harrison avenue. , Mrs. W. A. Frank Ray, manager of the Nantahala Beauty Shop, left Tuesday for Florida, where she will spend several weeks on ac count of her health. , Miss Nina Carpenter, who is teaching school in Westminster, S.
