Johnson, of Des Moines, Iowa, an
nounces, the marriage of their
daughter, Nadine Johnson Peacock,
to David Sterling . Latham, of
Greenville, S. C, on Thursday, No
vember. 24, at 1 o'clock at Buck
Creek Ranch.
The sunny lobby of the Ranch,
where the wedding took place, was
artistically arranged ' in 'native
shrubbery and wintergreens, which
made & very pretty background for
the simple but impressive ring
ceremony which was used by the
Rev. J. A. Flanagan, - pastor of the
Franklin Presbyterian dhurch. ' ( .
The bride wore a lovely after
noon gown of Versailles crepe and
her shoulder corsage was of gar
denias. Her only attendant was
Mrs. Robert S. Latham, of Green
ville, S. C, who was attired in an
aquamarine afternoon gown, with a
corsage of talisman roses.
Robert S. Latham, of Greenville,
served as best man to his, brother.
Following the ceremony a deli
cious wedding dinner' was served.
Those attending the wedding
were: Mr. and Mrs. W. P. John
son, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. and
Mrs. Robert S. Latham, of Green
ville, S. C; the Rev. and Mrs. J.
A. Flanagan. and two children, Ann
and John Flanagan, of Franklin,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl S. Slagle and
daughter, Myra, of Cartoogechaye.
Mr. and Mrs. Latham will be at
home at 320 Havilund avenue,
Greenville, S. C.
SURPRISE PARTY FOR
FIRST GRADE CHILDREN
Mrs. Jimmy Sutton and Mrs.
Tom McCollum, first grade repre
sentatives, gave the children a sur
prise party Wednesday afternoon
before the school closed for the
Thanksgiving holidays.
Games and contests with prizes
to the winners, were enjoyed, and
each child was given a cellophane
bag containing fruits and candies.
BRIDGE LUNCHEON AT
KELLY'S TEA ROOM
Mrs. Jack O. Werner and Mrs.
Richard Hertzler entertained with
a luncheon at the Kelly Tea Room
on West Main street Saturday, fol
lowed by .seven tables of bridge in
the afternoon.
Mrs. James Sutton was winner
of the high score prize, while Mrs.
Lyman Higdon was presented the
consolation prize.

The hostess served delicious sand
wiches, and tea to the large crowd
who called during the afternoon.
Prof, and Mrs. Hall Swain and
young daughter, Betsy Ann, of
Greenville, S. C, - spent the latter
part of the week at "Sunnyside
Farm" with Mrs. Swain's mother,
Mrs. W. W. Sloan, returning to
their home Sunday.
