Ito Dr. Herbert William Wall, of Los An geles, Cal., last Friday evening in Dallas, Texas. v The ceremony, was solemnized in the morning at the home of Dr. George Truett, Baptist minister, in Dallas. Only a few close friends were present. The bride wore a black silk suit and a black silk hat with a small veil. Over this costume , she wore a man-tailored topcoat of black needle-point wool bound in velvet. Her shoulder corsage was of or chids. Mrs. Wall is the daughter of Mrs. Petty and the late Mr. Petty, pioneer manufacturer of High Point. She is an alumna of Meredith col lege, Raleigh, and is a member of the Ray street school faculty in High Point. She has travelled ex tensively in this country and abroad. , , ' Dr. Wall, a native of Ontario, Canada, has ken a resident of Lo,s Angeles for a number of years. He is widely known in the field of medicine and surgery. He attended Western university in Canada where he received his M.D. degree and later did post-graduate work in Chicago, 111., St. Louis, Mo., and New York City. During the World War Dr. Wall was qualified on the He has since served on the staffs of such hospitals ' as Cedars of Lebanon, St. Vincents, Queen of the Angeles, and the California hos pital of Los Angeles. He is a mem ber of the Hollywood academy of Medicine, the California State Med ical society, the American Medical association, the. Rotary club and the Breakfast club of Los Angeles. Mr, Flanagan officiating. Mrs. Harry Higgins provided the wedding music and during the speaking of the vows played Schubert's "Sere nade" very softly. Mrs. Clark graduated in the 1937 class from the Franklin high school and is at present taking a business course in ' Franklin. Mr. Clark is employed at the Franklin Mineral t Products cor poration and they will make their home here after the first of Jan uary. Hospital News Sam Greenwood, of Gainesville, Ga., suffered severe lacerations of the face and head in an automo bile wreck at Clayton Christmas night. He was able to return to his home after a two-day stay at Angel hospital. Miss Hazel Everett, beauty oper ator of Franklin, underwent an operation for appendicitis Decemb er 23. Her condition is satisfactory. Master Leon Carpenter under went a mastoid operation Decem ber 21. He is the son of Zeb Car penter, Prentiss. Dan Moore, of Franklin Route 3, was operated on for acute appen dicitis December 7. Carl Slagle, who has been ser iously ill in the hospital following an operation for ruptured appendix, is now greatly improved. ' Mrs. Oscar Bryant, of Franklin, underwent a serious operation Tuesday morning. Her condition is still serious. Master George Crawford, of Fnanklin Route 4, underwent ah operation for ruptured appendix December 22. He is recovering. Miss Peggy Dalrymple, of Ral eigh, formerly of Franklin, under went a mastoid operation Decem ber 24. Her condition, is serious. Miss Jane Dalrymple, of Raleigh, formerly of Franklin, is a patient in the hospital suffering with pneumonia. H. H. Plemmons, county sanitary officer of Franklin, underwent a serious operation December 26. Miss Vallie We"st, of Raleigh, underwent a major operation De cember 26. Her condition is good. Mrs. W. R. Watts, Gneiss, under went an operation December 27, and is recovering. Baby Wayne Stewart, son of Harley Stewart, of Cullasaja, und erwent a major operation Decem ber 27. His condition is serious,. D. G. Stewart, of Franklin, is a patient under medical treatment at the hospital. Deducting expenses amounting to $58.86, Mr. Chappell cleared $270.09 net from his venture. Much of the good yield he ascribes to plowing under crimson clover last spring before setting the cabbage plants.
