Happy New Year!
JN this the last issue of The Press for 1938, we ex
tend to subscribers and advertisers our thanks for
the encouragement and generous patronage 1 gi yen
during the year just closing, and wish for each and
all a happy and most prosperous New Year.
In spite of strikes, politics, war scares and the
(lo eiu waiis of professional viewers with alarm,
.1S8 ias been a pretty good . year. Business has
started on the upgrade and, according to Roger
iiabson, will continue to improve throughout 1939
ine farm outlook is good and the prospect for in
creased employment of labor in all lines is better
man it has been since 1929.
Christmas of 1938 was certainly the happiest the
country has ever known in many respects. Cheer
was carried into the homes of the sad and lonely
throughout the land. Santa Claus searched as he has
never searched before in order that no little one
might be neglected. Altogether there was never such
an outpouring of generosity at Christmas time as
this year has witnessed.
The start upward was made in 1938 and 1939
looks better for us all.
