Thursday evening, December '22, under the sponsorship' pf the Dra matic, club and the four churches, was one of the loveliest events' of the holiday .season. The music under the direction; of Rev. and Mrs. H. B. DuPree, With a vested choir of 12 boys, 12 girls and 12 adults, was exceptionally good. The ..play was "Ebenezer Scrooge" from Dickens' Christmas Carol, directed by Mrs. Jack Wil cox,, with a cast as follows.: Eben ezer Scrooge, Jim Hines; niece and nephew, Peggy Thompson, Elmer McDowell; Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit, Harold McCorinell," Marveta Reese; Tiny Tim,- james Pbtts ; . Cobb and Miss Mafria Cobb have returned from Westminster, S. C, where they spent a part of the Christmas holidays with Mr. Cobb's parents. Chapman have returned to Atlanta after -a visit with Mrs. Chapman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Potts. Miss Marguerite Richart of At lanta, is the guest of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Edwards. Their daughter, Miss Louise Ed wards, of Trenton, N. J., is also at home' for a two weeks' visit. Fred Hooper is recovering from a serious attack of ptomaine pois oning. Miss Osceola Everett, who is spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs. Guy Paul and Mr. Paul, will return to her school near Winston-Salem the latter part of the week. Mr." and Mrs. Henry D. West, of Franklin, were the Christmas Day guests of Mr. and Mrs, W. A. Hayes. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Talley, of Satolah, Ga., spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Talley. The Boy Scouts went on a two day campirtg trip this week to the Primeval Forest. The Christian Endeavor girls have organized a basketball team to compete with the Christian Endeav or boys' team organized some time ago. Miss Christina Houston, of At lanta, is the guest of her sister, Mrs, Roy Speed aand Mr. Speed. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Davis were guests of Rev. and Mrs. S. H. Hilliard in Hendersonville on Wed nesday. Rev. and Mrs. J. G. Benfield have been called to Tryon, because of the illness of Mrs, Benfield's father. .
