ies. Mr. and Mrs. Dills are making
their home at Shooting Creek, in
Clay county where Mr. Dills has
employment with the Gennett
Lumber company.

The Girl Scouts will hold a spe
cial meeting in their new scout
house on Friday afternoon at 4
o'clock, for the purpose of plan
ning a .Christmas program. All

time in Southern California with

turned to her home in Atlanta,
after -a visit with her parents, Mr.

have moved to the McGuire apart

left last week for New York
where they plan to spend several
weeks visiting friends.
Wayne Franklin, of North Wilk
esboro, spent the week-end here
with Mrs. Franklin at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dean
on East Main street, and his

Franklin, on Franklin Route 4.
Ora Matlock, of Marietta, Ga.,
came up Saturday to be with his
father, J. B. Matlock, who under
went an operation for the removal
of his appendix at Angel hospital
Sunday.
Miss Mary Jo Setser, who is at
tending Brevard college, spent- the
week-end, with her parents, Mr.
and Mr,s. Joe Setser, at their
home on Cartoogechaye.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hoyt and

Mrs. Gordon Moore spent the
week-end in Salisbury with her
sister, Mrs. W. W. Heam and
Mr. '.Heam. Mrs. Heam was the
former Miss Elizabeth Barnard.
Theo Kiser, who is with the
Unjted States ' radio service, sta
tioned at Murphy, spent the week
end with his family at their home
on Bidwell street.
Girl Scout Notes
In order to take full advantage
of their new Scout house, the Girl
Scouts of Franklin have been re
organizing this past week, with
plans developed by v leaders and
troop committee members.
Division of 'the girls into patrols
of three, general age groups, each
meeting on different day.s, has
been made necessary by the growth
of the troop. The. girls have ap
proved the plan and it is believed
more fun can be had as, each
group, will work out its own pro
jects. Leaders, too, are expected
to find the smaller ' groups of
limited ages easier to handle.'
Under the new plan, one leader

Thursday . meeting, and Mrs. Ben
Woodruff will meet with the Sen
ior palrul on Mondays. Troop
committee members will furnish
'substitutes. Mrs. L. 11. Page is a
new member of the committee.
Friday will . be reserved as oc
casional meeting day for the troop
as a whole, when special interests
of all Scouts can be developed.
