Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Crawford
returned Wednesday evening from
a brief honeymoon in Charleston.

Moore, of Stuart, Fla.. recently
visited the former's mother, Mrs.
Hattie M'. Moore and her two
daughters, Mrs. Jennie Nolen and
Mrs. A. B. Slagle.
Miss Frances Roper has return
ed to her home in Augusta, Ga.,
after spending the holidays with
Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Hirsch at

Mrs. Crawford is the attractive

Gray. She graduated from the
Franklin high school and after
completing a course at the Athens
Business college, Athens, Ga., held
a position with the . U. S. v Forest
Service. For the past two years
she has " been in the employ of
the Nantahala Power and Light

The groom, son of Mr,s. Mysa
Crawford, graduated with honors
from Piedmont college, Demorest,
Ga. He has taught in 'the Frank
lin high school and other schools
in the county, resigning this, work
to accept a position with the Ma
con county welfare department.
For the past three months he has
been doing special - work in the
school" of public welfare in the
University of North Carolina.
After the ceremony the couple
left for a short wedding trip. Up
on their return they will have an
apartment in the home of Mrs. J.
W. C. Johnson on Harrison avenue.

In a wedding ceremony of quiet
simplicity, Miss Lucy Sue Gray
became the bride of Elmer Wilson
Crawford on Saturday afternoon.
December 30, at the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Javan Gray.
The Rev. J. A. Flanagan, pastor
of the ibride, officiated, using the
impressive ring ceremony. The liv
ing room was artistically, decorated
with gladioli, chrysanthemums and
white carnations. The vows were
spoken before an improvised altar
of native greens. White tapers, in
tall standards completed the ar
rangement. Fred Gray, brother of
the bride, lighted the candles
which shed a soft glow over the
wedding ' scene.
The bride's sister, Mrs. R. F.
Davis, was the; bride's only atten
dant. William Crawford, cousin of
the groom, acted as, best man.
The bride wore a becoming
three-piece suit of viking blue with

Reece, is a graduate of the Frank
lin high school, and attended
Western Carolina Teachers' college
at' Cullowhee. For the past several
years she has been teaching in
the public schools in Macon coun
ty. ,
Mr. Bradley is . the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Everette Bradley of
Etna. He is a dealer in livestock.

Mr. Jones, who has employment
in Georgia, is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. C. T. Jones', of Franklin

All property owners are required to return to the List Taker all the
real estate, personal property, etc., owned by each on the first day of
January.
AH male persons between the ages of 21 and 56 years are required by
law to list their polls during January.
All persons who own property and fail to list it and all who are liable
for a poll tax and fail to give themselves in will be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, subject to a fine or imprisonment upon conviction.
FARM CENSUS NOTE
Each farm owner shall prepare a list of the acreages of each
crop grown, including tenths of acres of truck The list should
show the total acres cultivated by the owner, also the acres culti
vated by all tenants on each separately recognized farm, the acres
in improved pasture, woodland, idle and other lands. He shall be
prepared to report the numbers of bearing fruit trees, the numbers
of livestock of breeding age, number-of hogs sold or slaughtered
during past 12 months and tons of fertilizers to be used during'
this crop year. This iinformation is kept confidential and has no
relation to taxes. Its purpose is for agricultural education, eco
nomic analysis and safer guidance of county agents and farmers
generally. ,
