Alice Davis, a bride of December
25. .
More than 40 friends called dur
ing the afternoon leaving many
beautiful and useful gifts.
The hostesses served delicious
cake and coffee.

The regular business meeting of
the Woman's Missionary Society
of the Franklin Baptist church
was held January 11 in the church
for the -installation of the new
officers to serve during the en
suing year. There were 22 mem
bers present. .
The pastor,' the Rev. C. F. Rog
ers, was in charge of the installa
tion services and presented : each
officer with an emblem represent
ing their duties: to the society.
Those installed included : Mrs.
C. C. Cooper, president; Mrs. John
Moore, vice-president; Mrs, Clar

Cardon, who has been seriously ill
at her home at Lcatherman for
the past three weeks, was' reported
to be slightly improved Tuesday.

King's first visit back to North
