LEWJS-WICKLINE FAMILY REUNION Mr. and Mrs. Lewis of West Palm Beach, Fla., entertained at a family reunion at tlieir home in the Webbmont section of High lands' last week for Mrs. Lewis' side of the family, with a special reunion dinner on Sunday, July 28. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. George Wickline and two children, Bobby and Beverly, Miss Margaret Wickline. Mr. and Mrs. Harry and son, Dickie, all from Ohio, and Mrs. Richard Dougherty of West Palm Beach, Fla. This was the first time the family had been together in 15 years and the clear weather helped to make the week an . unusually pleasant occasion. Swimming in Cliffside Lake, fish ing and picnics were enjoyed through the week. The Ohio members of the family left Monday to return to their homes, and Mrs. Dougherty will continue her visit for several weeks. 200 ATTEND NORTON REUNION . The annual Norton reunion was held near Cashiers last Sunday. Around 200 relatives and friends gathered for this occasion. The principal address was made by Dean Byrd of Cullowhee ; among th nther snpaltpre wrp MrR. Hat- tie Brown of Cullowhee and Mrs. Effie Picklcsimer of Whiteside Mrs. Meta N. Hall, a member of the Norton family, was to have geen a guest at this reunion but illness prevented. Mrs. Hall who has been ill for the past 10 days, is improving, which is pleasant news to her many friends. Mrs. J. Z. Gottwals, now in her 88th year was perhaps the oldest mem ber of the family present. LITTLE THEATRE 5CORES ANOTHER BIG SUCCESS Highlands .scored another success, and home talent was at a prem ium, when the Little Theatre pre sented its first . production of the season, "The Late Christopher Bean" to a delighted audience at an afternoon and night perform ance July 24 and 25. The cast showed remarkable stage ability, without a trace of amateur dull ness, and the part of Abby the servant girl, played by Mrs. Jack Wilcox, was1 perhaps the .highlight of the play. To . Author Little, professional director of little theatres, who di rected the play, goes much of the credit for its success. Miss Wall is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. K. Wall, who own an attractive summer home on East Main street here. Mr. Many is the son of Mrs. Clara Hepburn Many and the tete John L. Many. The Manys have' owned a summer home on Satulah Moun tain for the past 23 years. Three rooms have been reserved at King's Inn over the week-end for the Trosdal-Ulanowski wedding party. The wedding will take place at "Solbakken" the Trosdal summer home at the Country Club on Saturday, August 4, at high soon. Miss Virginia Morgan has re turned to her home in Clearwater, Fla., after a visit with Miss Mary Elizabeth Young. Miss Young will leave in a few days for a visit with Miss Elizabeth Miller in West Palm Beach, Fla, and with Miss Margaret Roberts in Miami All of these girls are Kappa Alpha Thetas. C, arrived on Tuesday to occupy the Billstein cottage on East Main street for the remainder of the season. Mrs. Billstein will be stay ing for some time with Miss Re becca Nail. Mr. and Mr,?. Arthur Hereford and three children , have returned to their home in Sarasota, Fla., after a .two weeks' stay at the Lpring' Raoul cottage on Brushy Face Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stokes of Sarasota are at present occupying this cottage. Dr. and Mrs. Holton of Savan nah, Ga.. will occuuv the Craig Cranston cottage on Satulah road through August and the first week of September. Mrs. Cranston will spend this time at Grimshawe's and Craig, Jr., will attend camp at Kanuga. Preston Neely of the Clear Creek section was bitten on the left hand by a snake several days ago while working at the S. N. Evins place, Medical treatment was given 'by Dr. Winsor and the hand is get ting in Working condition again. The Misses Marguerite and O' te Ravenel have had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. John Duane of Wil mington, Del.; Mr.s. ' The library is not a tax sup ported institution but depends on membership fees, donations and benefits. Scores of reservations have been made at the hotels for this week end and since crowds have always flocked to ,see a Bobby Jones tournament,, the indications are that Sunday will not be an exception to the rule.
