SCHOOL PROPERTY'
North Carolina,
Macon County
Pursuant to an order duly made
by the County Board of Educa
tion of Macon County, I will sell
at public auction to the highest
bidder for cash, at the Courthouse
door in Franklin, Macon County,
North Carolina at 12 o'clock noon
on Friday, September 6, 1940, ' the
following described land, the same
being the property formerly used
for the Rainbow Springs School,
to-wit:
BEGINNING on a small apple
tree about 100 feet below the old
road and runs N 12 W 200 feet to
a stake in the East bank of state
Highway 28 (now U. S. 64) ; then
with the W bank of ' said High
way S 82 W 200 'feet; then S 12
E 200 feet to a stake; then N 82
E to the beginning.
Also the following, easement and
right-of-way over and upon a
space of land 10 feet wide, lying
between said property above de
scribed, and a spring about 75
feet from the second corner of
the lot above described, with right
of ingress, regress and egress for
school children, and other parties
to pass over said land and use the
water from said sprine.
The above described land being
the property conveyed by E. W.
Doughty and wife to County Board
of Education of Macon County by
deed dated , and.
recorded in Book P-4 of Deeds, at
page 364, in the office of the Reg
ister of Deeds for Macon County,
North Carolina.
A deposit of 5 per cent will be
required of the last . and highest
bidder at said sale.
