Mountaineers Ball At Clayton Recreation Building, August 30 As a climax to a program of community dances every Wednes day and Friday during the sum mer, the Clayton Mountaineer's club has arranged for a "Moun taineer's Ball", Friday, August 30, at the Clayton Recreation building. "Tiny" Bradshaw and his . nationally-known orchestra, direct from New York City engagements, will, furnish music for the occa sion. Among Bradshaw's recent en gagement are performances at New York City's Cotton Club and Savov Ballroom, and the Trianon Ballrooms over the country. Mrs. Bryan Setser has returned home from Angel Clinic Where she was recovering from injuries due to an automobile accident. Miss Lucy Slagle spent the week end with her father, Mr. T. M. Slagle. Forest Service Softball Team To Play Walhalla Immediately after the baseball game with Kruoxville here Sunday, the Forest Service softball team will tangle with Walhalla, S. C, in a seven-inning thriller on the high school- field. Walhalla's softball team played a double-header with the Forest Service boys here once before earlier in the season, Walhalla tak ing the first game and the Forest Service the second. The Forest Service team will be recruited from such minature-dia-mond aces as Harry Wilhide, John Hamer, John Wasilik, Jr., and oth er members of the Forest Service .Staff over the county.
