PAGE SIX THE ftiANkUtf PRIMS AND THE HIGHLANDS MACON IAN Motorists Asked To Avoid Maneuver Area The North Carolina State High way aiid Public Works Commission has issued a statement calling at tention to the Army maneuvers opening this week in the 16-county area 'in. North and South Carolina. AUhough .none of the major high ways, will be closed on account of maneuvers, all civilian traffic is ad vised to avoid this area as much as possible, since Army movements will be carried on over them throughout the maneuver period. ' Civilian traffic will not be barred from this area but motorists can avoid delay and inconvenience by refraining from: entering the occu: pied territory while the war games are in progress.
