Funeral services were conducted by Key. J. C. Swaim. Mrs. Woody, who' was the former Miss Inez Smart, is at the hosnital. where she is reported to be recovering satis factorily. . Co wee P. T. A. Mr. Seay had a small cut on his finger which became infected and blood poisoning developed last Saturday. His sister, Miss Helen Seay, a trained nurse, came from her home in New Jersey and has been as sisting ire nursing him. Macon County Supply Will Receive Scrap Iron Harve Bryant of the -Macon County Supply companymnounces that they are prepared to receive and ship any and all kinds of scrap iron. The market price will be paid for all delivered. This firm has undertaken to do this work for the government, which is in great need of this metal necessary for the manufacture of steel for armamenits. BAPTIST MINISTERS TO MEET AT HIGHLANDS The Baptist ministers of Macon county will meet at Highlands in stead of Franklin for their manth ty meeting on April 6, with Rev'. J. Q. Clubs To Hold Council Meeting Saturday, April 4 The officers and leaders of the IS home demonstration clubs are to meet at the Agricultural Build ing . Saturday, April 4 at 2 p. m. for the semi-annual council meet ing. Mrs. J. S. Gray, of Hickory Knoll club, president of the county council, will preside. Miss Anna C. Kowe, western district home agerjt, will be present to assist in making plans for the district fed eration of home demonstration clubs to be held in Frankhn May 29. Chairmen of committees to be responsible for the various activi ties in arranging for the district meeting will be appointed by Mrs. Gray. Chairmen of garden, health and clothing leaders will report on wokr underway in ' the county by club members; who are making an ef fort to carry their full share of the war load. i Miss Ethel Hurst, supervisor of the school lunch rooms will dis cuss plans of carrying on the: pro gram next year more efficiently.
