Small Blaze
On Jail Roof
A blaze on the roof of the jail
while workmen were making re
pairs, from an explosion of as
phalt, caused a fire alarm Sat
urday morning. The fire was very
near the wailing siren which
brought a crowd in a few sec
onds. It was quickly extinguished
and little damage was done.

Will Begin Next Tuesday;
Schedule Announced
Harley R. Cabe Red Cross chair
man, announces that nutrition
classes will be taught in .six com
munities beginning Tuesday April
28. Miss Gladys Maxwell, chair
man of the nutrition committee,
has arranged for these classes to
be conducted each for a period
of two hours. These 20-hour
courses offer a certificate to rural
women or men who will be train
ed in the relation of food to phy
sical and mental efficiency, strength
nervous condition, and moral.

Mission Study At
Methodist Church
From April 27 to 29, an evening
mission study class will be con
ducted at ' the Methodist Church.
The text is to be "Methodist
Meeting House." Leaders will in
clude; James Hauser, H. T. Sloan
Herbert Angel, Dick Jones, Gor
don Moore, and Sam Mendenhall.
In addition to local members of
the church, it is expected that
visiting memlbers of the Macon
County churches will attend.
The Missionary film, "My Lord,
