FAMILY MOVE TO GA.
Mrs. N. G. Williams, widow of
the late Dr. Williams, who died
last February, and six chillren,
Louise, Bobby, Polly, Betty, Helen.
and Claude, left Thursday to make
their home in Clarkston, Ga., where
Mrs. Williams' family resides. The
good wishes of their many friends
who .regret to have them leave
Franklin, will go with them.

Mr. Garth Cunningham returned
to his wark in Wilmington after
spending several days with his
parents, IMr. and Mrs. Frank
Cunningham. On. his return he
was accompained to Charlotte by
his sister, Miss Delma Cunningham.
Miss Burdell Tallent, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Tallent of
Franklin, Rt. 3, was bitten by a
..' black widow spider and was
seriously ill in the Angel Hospi
tal last week. She is now at home,
and its improving rapidly.
Miss Delma Cunningham has
returned from a 10-day visit in
Charlotte anl Gastonia. Oji her
return she was accompained by
her cousin, Vance Mauney II, who
will spend most of the .summer
herrx.
J. Lee Tippett has returned to
, ' his home here after a trip to Allen-
town, Pennsylvania.
W. C. Hawkins, son of Mr. and
Mrs. H. L. Hawkins, left Monday
to work in the Navy Yard at
Charleston, S. C He will join his
brother, J, A. Hawkins, who is
already employed there.
Mrs. Ray Moses of Caftooge

Eugene Tanner of Rutherfordton,
Mrs. Tanner's little four year old

lege, having been honor graduate
there in 1941. Miss Holden plans
to attend Ohio State .next fall.
Mrs. J. LaMar Tompkins of
Lecsburg, Florida, spent the week
end with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Southard. Mrs. Tompkins
is chairman of the Private Duty
section and also second vice-presi
dent of the Florida State Nurses

in Chicaga, 111., as delegate from

been ill, is home from Angel hos

recovering from an attack of pneu
monia. Miss Jenellc Green, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Green, is
spending .some time in Canteen vis
iting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Reece.
Mrs. Homer Green spent last
weekend in Canton and Asheville
visiting relatives.
Mrs. St. Clair Anderson received
a message Wednesday of the death
of her brother, Frank Brekaw, of
Campagaw, N. J. Mrs. Anderson
lost another brother, William, an
February 15 of this year. Mr. Bro
kaw leaves a widow, several chil
dren and another sister, Miss Eva
Brokaw, of Albany, N. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Cunning
ham had as their guests over the
weekend their son Bill, and his
wife, from Virginia Beach, and
their daughter, Mrs. Alex Whitak
er and Mr. Whitaker, of Sylva.
Miss Dorothy Frances Bluemen
thal, has returned home from
Greensboro where she was one of
the 431 students to be graduated
from the Woman's College of the
University of North Carolina at
the 50th anniversary commence
ment exercises held m Aycock
auditorium yesterday morning.
Miss Bluementhal, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. M. Bluementhal
of Franklin, received a Bachelor
of Science degree in Secretarial
Administration. A member of the
Dikeaii society, she has belonged
also to the Gamma Alpha club and
has served on her residence hall
board.
Mr, and Mrs. I. L. Easton of
Lenoir City and their two children
arrived Monday. Mr. Easton re
returned Wednesday, while his
family will remain for a visit with
Mrs. Eastern's sister, Mrs. Rcba
ressier.
George and Jack Tessier who have
returned from L. S. U. last week,
have been visiting their mother.
George returned Sunday to Baton
Rouge where he has work for the
summer while Jack will work at
Fontana during his vacation.
John W. Murray has returned
home after a visit to his daughter,
Mrs. R. O. Higdon at Gay.
Lucille Calloway has gone to
Charlotte for several months to
complete a commercial course.
Miss Leedia Beshears left Tues
da for Asheville, where she will
attend the wedding of Miss Caro
line Dilliain to Willis Bennet or
Thursday.
Richard R. Johnson left Tuesday
for New York where he will shortly
sail as a seman with the Mer
chant Marines. He returned a
short time ago from a trip to
South America.
. Miss Bessie Goforth and Pauline
Gorforth has been visiting Mrs.
Ford Mann this week. They re
turned to their home in Newton,
N. C, Thursday.
Miss Grace Conley, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs; . S. Conley. who
holds a secretarial position in New
port News, Va.. arrived last week,
and will be at home now for an
extended vacation.
Mrs. H. E. Freas will leave Mon
day for Appalachian School, Pen
land where she will spend a month
while the Summer School of
Crafts is in session. At this time
she will be with her daughter.
