Hughes died Saturday, August 8, at 5:10 p.m. at An drews. Mr. Hughes had been an active church member for the past fifteen years. He was born in 1882 at Young Harris, Ga. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Stepp Hughes: four sons: Don Hughes of Franklin, Joe Hughes of Aquone, Ralph Huges and Robert Hughes of Andrews; one daugh ter, Mrs. Gladys Barker of Mur phy; four sisters: Mrs. Gertrude Blanchard of Greenville, b. L, Mrs. Georgia Howard of Colum bia, S. C, Mrs. Lee Dillard ot Aquone, and Mrs. Charlie ra ber of Franklin, Route 2; one brother, Fred Hughes, of Green ville and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Hughes has been a resi dent of Aquone for the past 22 years until he moved to Andrews last week. He has been ill for the past year. Funeral services were held in Andrews last Mon day by the Rev. Mr. Baker and interment was m Andrews ceme tery. AUGUST TIRE QUOTA The Office of the Price Ad ministration has released North Carolina's tire and inner rube quota for August.
