C Reynolds, Jr. Farmers in the various Farm ers' Federation counties will see a great deal of this man in the future he has been ap pointed Field Secretary of that organization. He is A. C Rey nolds, Jr., formerly principal of the West Buncombe school, who is a member of the state legislature and during the sum mer has served as head of the Farmers' Federation Training school. As Field Secretary he will assist in all the Federation programs, such as livestock, poultry and wood products. Reports Made And Officers Installed At Baptist Church At a recent meeting of the Franklin Baptist church, officers for the new year were installed and reports were made to the congregation on the past year's work. The pastor, -Rev. C. F. Rogers, gave the following report in com parative figures: Four years ago the congrega tion gave $661.13 for Missions, while this year the figure was $1,313.93. Five years ago the to tal gifts for local work amount ed to $1,752.52, and this year the amount was $3,610.59. For all pur poses that year, $2,408.77, while this year's total was $4,924.52. Gregory Child Passes Friday Garman Gregory, one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ebb Greg ory, of Franklin, died at the hone Friday afternoon at 1,45 o clock after a four weeks illness. Funeral services will be held Saturdav afternoon at 3 o'clock at the lotla Baptist church. Surviving are the parents ; thre sisters,' Delia Mae, Evelyn and Katherine, and one brother, John ny. JOIN! Sanders' ) Funeral Last Friday Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon, August 14, for C. T. Sanders, 28, of the South Skeenah section of Macon coun ty, who was found dead Thursday evening about 6 o clock. The services were held at the home of his mother with the Rev James Sanders officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery iR the Skeenah community. Officers, who investigated the death, said Mr. Sanders went to the home of his brother, Ernest Wednesday afternoon and, finding no one at home, spent the night there alone. Death was viewed at suicide by Sheriff Slagle and Cor oner Zeb Shope, and it was an nounced no inquest would be held. The body was found by Steve Stockton at the home. Tlie investigating officers found a 16-gauge shotgun near the body and expressed the opinion he placed the gun muzzle near his heart and discharged the weapon.
