Nantahala Creamery Pasteurize* Product For i Many Markets The Nantahala Creamery is one of the largest industrial plants in Macon county. A large proportion uf the output at present is going to the Southern Dairies, Inc., Ashe ville. The rest, besides supplying local nejeds, goes to Highlands, Sylva and Brevard. A. B. Sbg4e owner, has been in the dairy business for many years and his butter has taken many blue ribbons as first prizes at Stale Fairs. He has been buying milk and cream from producers in Macon and neighboring counties for 16 years, besides that produced from his own large herds. Now the large quantities of milk and cream col lected on his milk routes is geing to supply serious shortages in near by cities and towns. The dairy barns of the Nanta hala Creamery located four miles from Franklin on Highway 64 are of the most modern type. Sur rounded by a wide sweep of rich grazing land on Cartoogechaye creek, this dairy farm is one of the show places of the county. Together with another large farm, the pastures embrace 300 acres of the more than 1000 acres of farm ing and woodland of the two farms. A herd of 240 head of Guernsey dairy cattle, about 175 of which are registered purebred cattle, find rich grazing on these bottom lands. Some of the herd have been sold for highest prices through th* American Guernsey Club of which Mr. Slajjle is a member, and with which his purebred stock is regis tered. Tlie creamery also operates a pasteurizing plant located inFrank lin where the finished products of butter, pasteurized milk, but termilk and cream are bottled and from which the trucks are loaded for distribution. FARM FORESTS HEAVY About one-third of all the forest land of the United States is on farms, according to the U. S. De , parlment of Agriculture. Classified Advertisements FOR SALE ?
