TO THE PEOPLE OF MACON COUNTY:
I wish that I knew good enough words to
express my deep and sincere appreciation to
all my good friends in Macon county. I ap
preciate the loyal support, not only as cus
tomers for $ and f but especially for the
friendships and many good deeds which have
been granted me,- which I value far more than
anything else.
I can write a whole page about how I feel
and think of you good people, but that would
only be just a beginning. I assure you that
I will miss those Million Dollar smiling faces
coming to my store and saying, "Joe, which
one of these will be best for me to. buy?"
That great ponfidence made me work harder
and with more enthusiasm to be of service
to all of you, which* I realv enjoyed. I often
used these words to a shoe customer: "Let
me fit your foot with shoes instead of fitting
your eyes. That means more comfort and
longer wear". Many people relied on me to
do so. Again and again? I want to say I at
tribute my success to your loyal support,
and I shall always rembember you.
I will still be in Franklin and hope to see
all of you often. While I won't be in busi
ness as I once was, I hope to remain your
friend, ONE OF YOU ? and render any
service possible.
Very sincerely yours,
Joe Af hear
