EUijay section of Macon County. ? have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Freda Mihcey, to John F. Price, son of Mrs. Fred Buchanan, also of EUijay. The ceremony was sol emnized on Sunday, January 6, in Clayton, Ga. The bride was attired in a brown dress with matching ac cessories. Mrs. Price is a graduate of the Franklin High school, class of 1944, and was for sometime employed in the Bank of Wayne in Goldsboro. Mr. Price, recently received his honorable discharge from the armed forces, following five years in the service, 42 months of which was spent in New Zealand and Australia. He held the rank of sergeant at the time he was discharged. BAPTIST CIRCLES TO MEET NEXT WEDNESDAY The two circles of the Wom an's Missionary society of the Franklin Baptist church will meet on Wednesday, February 20, at 2 o'clock. Circle No. 1 will meet at the home of Mrs. R. M. Rimmer on Bidwell street, while Circle No. 2 will meet with Mrs. A. R. Higdon at her home on the Georgia road. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Mrs. Frank Calloway and son, Hunter Calloway, returned to their home on Bonny Crest Monday evening, after attend ing the funeral of their brother in-law and uncle, George Callo way, in Tullalah Falls, Ga.t Monday. John H. Wasilik, who recent ly returned from 19 months of service in the European the ater of war, has resumed his studies at Manhattan college, New York. He and his sister, Miss Elizabeth Wasilik, who is attending New Rochelle college. New Rochelle. N. Y., have met and had dinner together since his going to Manhattan. Ora Matlock, of Marietta, Ga.. came up Tuesday for a visit with his mother, Mrs. J. B. Matlock, who has been a pa tient at the Angel hospital, suffering from a fractured col lar bone, received in a fall at her home last Friday. Jack Ramey, of Enka, has been visiting relatives and friends in the Riverside com munity this week. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. McGlam ery spent the week-end inAshe ville with Mr. McGlamery's par ents, Mr, and Mrs. Ben Mc Glamery. Mrs. Gilmer A. Jones left Monday for St. Petersburg, Fla.. to visit her son, G. A. Jones, Jr-, and Mrs. Jones, and their in fant daughter. Mrs. C. T. Blaine returned home Sunday from Orlando. The following officers of the Woman's Society "of Christian Service attended the officers training school at Bryson City last Saturday: Mrs. Clara W. Owens, Mrs. J. W. Brogden, the Rev. and Mrs. D. P. Grant, Mrs. Robert Poindexter, and Mrs. Lease Bryson. An old fashioned quilting party was enjoyed by a large number of neighbors and friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McGaha last Friday. De licious refreshments were serv ed. A miscellaneous shower was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus W. Carter, bride and groom, last Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Carter. Calloway Native Of Macon, Dies At Tugala, Ua. News has been received here of the death of George Callo way of Tugalo, Oa. Mr. Calloway, 58. died at his home at Tugalo. Oa.. last Sat urday evening at 7:30 o'clock, following a stroke of apoplexy suffered Thursday evening. He had been in failing health since August of the past year. Mr. Calloway, a former resi dent of the lotla section of Macon County, where he was bom and reared, had made his home in Georgia for the past 30 years. He was the son of the late Curry Calloway and Mrs. Sallie Cansler Calloway. Mr. Calloway, who had been an employe of the Georgia Power company for the past 27 years, was married to Miss Oma Kerby, of Tiger, Ga., who survives. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the TuUalah Falls Baptist church, with Interment follow ing In the Tiger cemetery. Mem- | bers of the Masonic Order, of which he was a member, had charge of the graveside rites and acted as pallbearers. Surviving, in addition to the widow, are four children, Kirby Calloway and Hubert Calloway, of Tugalo, Miss Marian Callo way, of Atlanta, Ga., and Miss Betty Calloway, of Tugalo; three brothers, James Calloway, of Spartanburg, S.
