SOCIAL ACTIVITIES and COMINGS AND GOINGS MISS NELLIE NICHOLS WEDS FRANK JAMISON Mr and Mrs. J. T. Nichols, of the Prentiss community have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Nellie Nichols, to Frank Jamison, son of Grover Jamison, Sr., of Franklin. The wedding ceremony was performed on Saturday evening, February 16, in Clayton, Oa., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Green, with Mr. Green, or dinary, officiating. The bride was dressed in a rose mist suit, with which she wore brawn accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of gar denia. Mrs. Jamison is a graduate of the Franklin High school and attended Asheville college. She has been employed in the S. Si Jj. Five and Ten cent store here for the past six years. Mr. Jamison, son of Mr. Jami son and the late Mrs. Mary Brown Jamison, is a graduate of the Franklin High school. He recently was discharged from the army, following *45 months' service, two years of which was in Europe with an air service squadron in the Ninth Air Force. For approximately 10 years prior to entering the arm ed forces, he was employed in the S. & L. Five and Ten Cent store here. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Jamison to Clayton were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wood, of Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Jamison will make their home in Franklin. MISS HAZEL ADAMS WEDS CHARLIE R. HOLLAND Mrs. Lizzie Simonds Adam, of Franklin, has announced the marriage of her daughter, Miss Hazel Adams, to Charlie R. Holland, of Gneiss, the wedding ceremony was solemnized on Tuesday, February 19, in Clay ton, Ga., with Ed Keener, ordi nary, officiating. The bride was attired in a Copenhagen suit with which she wore a white blouse and black accessories. Mr. Holland, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Holland, of Gneiss, was recently return i ed to the States from the Pa cific, where he spent three years in the armed forces. He has received his honorable dis charge apd is now at his home at Oneiss. Prior to entering the armed forces, he was a farmer. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Holland to Clayton were Her schell Simonds, brother of the bride, Miss Ruth Younce, and Edgar Younce, all of Franklin MISS ANDERSQN TO BECOME BRIDE OF) COLORADO MAN Mr. and Mrs. George E. An derson, of Franklin, Route 1, have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter. Miss Marie An derson, of Franklin, Route 1, and Baltimore, Md., to Benny Billinger, of Brighton, Colo. The wedding ceremony is scheduled to take place in early March in the St. Augustine church in Brighton. Miss Anderson, who attend ed the Franklin High school h?s been an inspector in tht "Western Electric plant in Bal timore, Md., for the past two years. Mr. Billinger, who recently returned from overseas where he served in an armored divi sion, has received his honorable discharge and is now at his home in Brighton. MISS EVA TALLENT WEDS GASTONIA SOLDIER AT YORK A wedding of interest here was that of Miss Eva Tallent, of this vicinity, and Gastonia, to Pfc. Jacob A. Waters, of Gas tonia, now stationed at Fort Bragg, solemnized on February 6, in York, S. C, Mrs. Waters is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tallent, of Franklin, Route 3, and is now employed in Gastonia. Pfc. Waters has been in the army for the past three years. ' Accompanying Pfc. and Mrs. Waters to York, were Miss Ma rie Waters, sister of the bride groom, and Hoyt Green, of Gas tonia. Pfc. HOWARD W, HASTING, who is serving in the armed forces, has just completed his 15-day furlough with his moth er, Mrs. Reid Bingham, at her home on Cartoogechaye. Pvt. Bingham entered the service in October 1945 at Fort Bragg and took his basic training at Fort McClellan, Ala. He is in the army air forces, now stationed at Kearns, Utah, awaiting over seas assignment. Prior to enter ing the service he was a farmer. MISS SETSER HONORED WITH MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER Miss Mary Jo Setser, whose I engagement and approaching : marriage to Bob Sloan was re cently announced, was honor ed with a miscellaneous show er on Tuesday afternoon at the hom'e of Mrs, John Bulgin, with Mrs. Rosalind Bulgin Wilson and Mrs. Betty Kemp as asso ciate hostesses. Approximately 75 guests call ed during the afternoon, leav ing many attractive and useful gifts for the honoree. The Bulgin home was deco rated throughout with forsythia and jonquils, and the dining room table, which was overlaid with a lace cloth, Was centered with a bowl of jonquils. The bride-elect was attired in a grey crepe dress, and wore a corsage of red rose buds, a gift from the hostesses. A salad course with cookies and Russian tea were served. Personal Mention H. D. Corbin, who is on the staff of Delta Air lines in Ashe ville, spent the week-end in Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Cabe, of 1 Sedro Woolley, Wash., arrived here Saturday for a few weeks' visit with relatives and friends ? in Macon County. Mr. Cabe, formerly a resident of the Otto community, has been in* Wash ington for 27 years, this being his first visit back to his native county. Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Hatfield and family, of Greenville, S. C., spent the week-end at their home on Cartoogechaye. Mr. Hatfield is an income tax coun sellor in Greenville and spends his summers at his' summer home on Cartoogechaye. T. C. Bryson, of Warners Springs, Ga., was visiting rela tives and Iriends in the West's Mill community last week.
