4 Army Day' Is Proclaimed By Mayor Angel i April 6 is Army Day. The day is expected to be ob served by Americans throughout the world, and Mayor T. W Angel. Jr.. this week issued a proclamation designing Satur day as Army Day in Franklin and calling on the people of the town to observe it "in a fitting manner". His proclamation follows: "Whereas, our army has been victorious over the forces of ag gression and evil, and have brought peace to our country. "Whereas, the citizens ol Franklin are grateful to the men and women who fought, worked, suffered and even gave their lives that the victory might be ours. "Whereas, it is entirely fit ting that we dedicate one day to the Army who stand, and have always stood, in the strong defense of our country. "And whereas, April 6 has been celebrated as Army Day ? I do proclaim it as such for Franklin, and direct that Army , Day be celebrated in a fitting \ manner." Mrs. Julia Key Taken By Death At Georgia Home Funeral services and burial of Mrs. Julia Key, who died j March 21. were conducted at the Union Baptist church at Helen, in White county, Geor gia, according to word receiv ed here. Mrs. Key's husband, Newton Silas Key, was born in Macon County, and spent his young manhood in or near Franklin. Mrs. Key was twice ;narried. She and her first husband, Lester Chastain, had three chil dren, Ethel, Lovadia, and Hazel. There were also three children by the second marriage. Ernest Hershel, and Mack. All six sur vive their mother. The Rev. Mr. Davis, the pas tor, and the Rev. Mr. Plasket, of Cornelia, conducted the final rites.
