Oscar Ashe, Macon Native, Dies In West News has been received here j by Mrs. Charlie T. Blaine of ! the death of her brother, Oscar W. Ashe, in Portland, Ore., last week. Mr. Ashe, a native of Frank lin, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac J. Ashe, of Har rison avenue. Franklin. His early manhood was spent in Frank lin, and in 1908 he went to Portland, where he has resided since except for a few years he spent here when he and his father operated a drug stofe, now Angel's. His work in Port- , land has been as a brakeman j on the railroad from Portland to Spokane, Wash. Mr. Ashe died in a hospital in Portland April 1, following an illness of three years. He was a member of the Brotherhood lodge and was af filiated with other secret orders. Funeral services were held April 3, with interment follow ing in a Portland cemetery. Surviving are one son. Earl Ashe, of Portland; seven sisters, Mrs. Harley Mashburn, Mrs, Ed Angel, Mrs. Irene Barner, Mrs. Zeb Sumner and Mrs. Clell Hammond ,all of Portland, and Mrs. Charlie T. Blaine and Mrs. J. H. Fouts, of Franklin; and one brother, Derald Ashe, of Franklin; also one aunt, Mrs. Myra Allman, of Franklin. Doyle W. DeHart Given Discharge From Navy Doyle W. DeHart, of Franklin, was discharged from the navy at the separation center at Jacksonville, Fla., April 15, ac cording to a navy announce ment received here. The an nouncement gave no details of his service.
