Mrs. Matlock's Funeral Held At Snow Hill Funeral services for Mrs Lily Belle Mason Matlock, wid- ' ow of J. Bowman Matlock, who died Wednesday of last week, were held at the Snow Hill Methodist church Friday morn ing at 10:30 o'clock. The. Rev. D P. Grant, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. Jackson Huneycutt, pastor of the Frank lin Methodist church, and the Rev. C. C. Welch, pastor of the Cowee Baptist church. Inter ment followed in the church cemetery. The pallbearers were T M. Rickman, Carr Bryson, Ras Pen land. Fred Bryson, Ralph Pen land and J. B. Elmore. The honorary pallbearers were Dr. Edgar Angel, Dr. Furman Carbin, Dr. H. T. Horsley, Dr. Frank Justice. Dr. B. D. Bur leigh. T. W. Angel, Jr., Clyde West, R. R. Rickman, Carl Sorrells. Harley Morrison, Oscar Rickman, J. Perry Bradley, Zeb Angel, Albert Raby, James R. Holbrooks, John H. Dalton, Dock Clark, Bob Rickman, George Potts, W. C. Burrell and J. H. Brookshire. The flower girls were Mrs. R. L. McGaha. Mrs. Chace Tat h,am, Mrs. Ruth Jacumin, Louise. Betty and Freda Moore, Patricia Tatham, Bertha, Patsy and Wanda Cantrell, all grand daughters of the deceased. Surviving are four daughters. Mrs. Fred McGaha and Mrs. Roy Cantrell. of West's Mill, Mrs. Harley L. Phillips, of Morgan- j ton, and Mrs. Fred A. Moore, of Franklin, Route 1; six sons, Jay B. Matlock, of West's Mill, Charles Matlock, of Winston Salfcm. Ora E. John J., W. Per ry. and Dorsey Matlock, all of Marietta, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six brothers, B. F. Stiles, son of Frank Stiles, of Franklin, Route 2, recently was discharged from the navy, an announcement from San Pedro, Calif., says. He entered the service in November, 1943, and is entitled to wear the Asiatic-Pacific, American, Euro pean-Middle East, and Philip pine liberation ribbons and the Victory medal. Aged 20. he had a total of 19 months' overseas service. Bowman Matlock, who died May 20M945. She was a member of the Siiqw Hill Methodist church and of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. Bryant Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
