James Randolph Dance, son of Mrs. Phillip S. Dance and the late Mr Dance, of Knox ville; Tenn., in a candlelight ceremony last Thursday eve ning at 8 o'clock in the Frank lin Methodist church. The Rev. W. Jackson Huneycutt, pastor j of the bride, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with mountain greenery and l baskets of white gladioli. Three white arched candelabra, each holding 15 tapers, were lighted hy Sgt. Blaine Livingston and Sgt. V O. West, both of Franklin. Before the- ceremony Mrs. Henry W. Cabe played "To a Wild Rose" by MacDawell, I Love You Truly" by Carrie Jac obs-Bond, and ? O Promise Me" by DeKoven, and Miss Virginia , Bryant sang "Because" by | D'Hardelot. The bridal party entered to the bridal chorus from "Lohengrin", and during the taking of (the vows "Ave Maria", by Schubert, was played softly. Mendelssohn's wedding inarch was used as the reces sional. The bride was given in mar riage by her brother, Robert Jackson Angel. She wore a slip per satin wedding gown fash roned with a sweetheart neck- ( line, long fitted sleeves ending in a point over the wrists, trim med in tiny satin-covered but tons.) The gown, with fitted bodice, was fastened in the back with sctin-covered buttons ex tending from the neckline to the waist, and her full gather ed skirt ended hi a long cir cular train. Her fingertip, two tiered veil of white illusion was worn coronet effect and trim med with seeded pearls. Her bouquet was of white roses, gardenias, and stephanotis, cen tered with an orchid, worn later for traveling. She wore a neck lace of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. L Mtases Jean and Joy McCol lum, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Phil McCollum, and cous ins of the bride, were train bearers. They wore gowns of yellow organdie, with square necklines, and bows tied on the shoulder, with their long full skirts ending in ruffles. Miss Ruth Angel, sister of the bride, was maid of honjr. She wore a gown of aqua silk mar quisette, with an off-shoulder neckline, fitted bodice and long full skirt. Her headdress was a comb of red rosebuds and she carried a bouquet of red roses. Miss Mildred Ann McCollum, cousin of the bride, and Miss Ann Cabe, served as brides maids. The ushers were Sgt. Blaine Livingston, Sgt. V. O. West, Clell Bryant and Robert Mooney, all of Franklin. ? The mother of the bride wore a dress of light blue with white accessories, and a lavender or chid. The bridegroom's mother wore a dress of aqua print sheer with white accessories and a laven der orchid. An informal reception was given by the bride's parents at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, E. B. McCollum, on Palmer street. The home throughout was arranged with bowls of gladioli, larkspur and baby's breath. The table was covered with a white imported hand-em broidered Chinese linen cloth and centered with a triple-tier ed wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Ice cream bells and slippers and cake were served. Following the reception the couple left on a short wedding trip. For traveling, the bride changed to a light blue suit with white accessories. Sgt. and Mrs. Dance will make their home in Murphy. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. Ray Swafford have returned to their home here after spending three weeks in Portsmouth.
