The future of price-control by law is uncertain.
Nobody knows what tomorrow may bring.
But of one thing we all are certain:

Because we know that is true, we, the under
signed Franklin business men, pledge ourselves to
do our best to keep prices in line.
While Congress is making up its mind what to do,
we promise our customers and the general public
that we will?
1. Not advance our retail prices unless the wholesale prices
we pay are increased.
2. Not increase our MARGIN of profit, even if we have to pay
more for goods.
3. Not accept higher - than - ceiling prices from persons who of
fer to pay more than the general public is charged in order
to obtain scarce items.
