County Tax Rates Range From 40 Ceniis To $2.20 County-wide tax rates in North Carolina ranged from a low of 40 cents on the $100 val uation in New Hanover county to $2.50 in Pamlico in 1945, ac cording to a study of county tax rates made by the North Carolina Citizens association and its magazine, "We The People".
