Myers, Franklin, Route 3, will mark their Golden WeddLng anniver sary Friday While August 2 will be the 50th anniversary of their wedding, the celebration will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon from 2 until 6 o'clock, when they will hold open house for their friends throughout the county. Mr. and Mrs. Myers are both lifelong residents of Macon county. Mr Myers was born on October 5, 1872, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Myers, while Mrs Myers, the former Miss Nannie Belle Jac abs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs David Jacobs, of Franklin, was born September 6, 1877. They have lived at the old Myers home most of their married life They are members of the Iotla Methodist church, and always have taken an active interest in ill church and community af fairs. Mr. Myers has been teach er of the Men's Bible class for the past 15 years and has been a. steward in the church for about 35 years. Although he was a painter for many years, most af his life has been devoted to farming Mr. and Mrs Myers have six children, Mrs Robert Cansler, af Pisgah Forest, Mrs. Claude Duvall, Franklin, Route 3. Moses, of the North Carolina Employment commis sion, of Bryson City, who be came ill last week while here, is reported to be improving at his home in Bryson City. Decoration services will be held at the Strain and Walnut Creek cemeteries on Sunday morning, August IX. The Rev. George Cloer will preach in the afternoon The general public is invited. Those attending are asked to bring lunches for the picnic dinner to be served on the grounds at noon. The cemeteries will be cleaned on August 8, in preparation for the decoration.
