last week-end for a visit with
Mrs Blaine's mother, Mrs. F. W.
Briggs Mr. Blaine spent only

the all-day, county-wide meet
ing of the Woman's Society for
Christian Service of the Meth
odist churches of Macon coun
ty, Tuesday at the Franklin
church.
Mrs. McKee reviewed the
book, "The Cross Over Africa",
which the societies have been
studying

Organize On Friday
The FYanklin discussion ot
study club, for men and women,
will be organized a't a meeting
tomorrow (Friday) night at 8
o'clock at the Episcopal rectory
on Church street. Preliminary
plans for the organization were
laid at a meeting held 10 days
ago At Friday night's session,
officers will be elected and dis
cisions will be reached about the
type of discussions to be held.

Lions district governor, made
his official visit to the Franklin
Lions club, and addressed the
members at Monday's evening
meeting at Rivervlew inn.
The club also heard a talk
by Gene Hollis, Clayton busi
ness man, who discussed the
situation of the Tallulah Falls
Railroad, and emphasized the
importance of business men
along the line seeing to it that
the railroad continues to oper
ate.
